What to Wear?

Daytime Wear
Casual attire is the order of the day. We suggest shorts, sundresses, tank tops, etc. for the ladies. For men: shorts, polo shirts, T-shirts, etc. We suggest you wear rubber-soled, low heeled or flat shoes for extra traction while onboard. Note: The use of any footwear with wheels, including but not limited, to Heelys© shoes, is prohibited on board our ships. For dining you may want to dress up a bit and/or bring along a light sports jacket or cardigan.

Evening Wear
Most evenings we have a Cruise Casual dress code, but there are those Cruise Elegant evenings where you will have the opportunity to showcase your more elegant attire (one evening on a 2-5 day cruise; two evenings on a 6-day or longer cruise). Both dress codes for the dining rooms are described below and pertain to children as well.

For those who want casual attire for dinner time, the Seaview Bistro on the Lido Deck is open nightly and has a more relaxed theme. However, shirts and shoes/footwear (flip-flops) must be worn at all times inside the Lido Restaurant.

Dining Room - Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code
  • Gentlemen: sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts
  • Ladies: casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs).
  • Not permitted in the dining room: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men and baseball hats.

Dining Room - Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code
  • Gentlemen: Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so.
  • Ladies: Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too!
  • Not permitted in the dining room: shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear and baseball hats.

“Serenity”

Adult-Only Retreat Area
Fantasy-Class Ships

As an alternative to the wide variety of family-friendly activities we offer, Carnival has introduced “Serenity” – an adults-only area that provides guests with a tranquil place to escape from all stress in a wonderful ocean-going oasis of relaxation and comfort.

The “Serenity” area is located in the secluded aft section of the Promenade deck that was formally the children’s pool area. This location provides a quiet place of relaxation where adults can enjoy spectacular ocean views from the comfort of plush chaise lounges and chairs. Guests can choose to enjoy their quiet time in the sun or under colorful, oversized umbrellas. For guests who wish to relax out of the sun, a separate shaded area is also available.

“Serenity” offers more than just a comfy hideaway from a stressful world. Two warm, relaxing whirlpools are available for our guest’s enjoyment and a variety of music adds to the ambience of the area. Complete bar service is available from attentive waiters are on hand to help guests with their selections of delightfully icy cocktails and fun, frozen drinks at our normal bar prices. Guests wishing for a snack or casual meal will find the Lido Restaurant is just one deck up and easily accessible.

The “Serenity” adults-only area is available to guests 21 years of age and older. While the area can be accessed at any time, the whirlpools and bar wait service are only available from 8:00am to 10:00pm.

Resort-Style Main Pool Areas

The Resort-Style Main Pool area is presently on the Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Imagination, Carnival Sensation, Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Ecstasy and the Carnival Fascination.

Inspiration for the pool area was taken from the tropical beauty of the Caribbean. The pool area features a “beach” that surrounds the pool area and is made up of blue tile with yellow accents, bringing to mind the beauty of the sun shining of through the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. Large, sunny yellow umbrellas provide a shaded area for guests to sit and enjoy being on the “beach” poolside.

A whirlpool awaits guests at either end of the pool. One gives guests the option of relaxing in soothing warm water under a thatched roof in the shade, while the other lets guest enjoy the sun under a canopy of whimsical faux palm trees. The area also includes thatched roof spiral stair cases which help to open up the area.

The two bar areas on the forward corners of the mid-ship deck area have also been given a fresh new tropical look. New mosaic tiles along with a thatch roof over head provide shade for guests to enjoy the barstool seating area which was made more spacious by removing the staircases that partially blocked views to the open deck area.

The outdoor food service area to the aft of the resort style pool and the performance stage has also been redone with new tile-work and thatched roofing providing even more of a tropical resort area feel to the Lido deck.

Photographic Experiences

The Ship's Photographers take both candid and posed shots all during the cruise. The photos are put on display, usually the very next day, and are available for purchase with the guest's Sail & Sign card. Special requests can be made by appointment. Following is the price list for photographs (prices vary among the fleet):

  • 1 - 8 x 10:         $21.99
  • 1 - 5 x 7:           $7.99
  • 1 - 6 x 9            $8.99

Carnival has converted the photography services to advanced digital, using professional digital cameras by Olympus.
Photo-retrieval kiosks, a new system and first of its kind in the cruise industry, utilizes innovative "facial recognition technology". The technology matches a guest's likeness with stored vacation photos shot by the photographers and displays the images on the computer screen for review and purchase.

Photo printing kiosks allow the guest to simply insert the memory card from their digital camera into a card reader located within the stand-alone printing kiosk. After selecting photo size and quantity, the images are then printed in a matter of seconds on high quality digital photo paper. Guests can also customize their photos with colorful borders, backgrounds and other features.

  • To pay for the photos, guests will swipe their "Sail & Sign" card.
  • Cost: $0.50 per 4x6 print; rates will vary per size/quantity.
